General FAQ's:
1. I have purchased the program but
it will not let me print.
-
When you purchased the program you received a Registration
Code. Start the program and select File/Register from the menu.
Enter your Registration Code. This will fix the problem.
2. When I enter the registration code it does
not work.
-
Are you sure you have installed the correct program? Some of
our CD's have multiple programs. Check your invoice to see which product you
purchased. If the icon does not have the same name then uninstall the
current program on your desktop and install the correct program from your disk.
3. I lost my registration code.
-
If you have registered your software we will be happy to provide you with a new
registration code. Call us at 800-750-2756. We will ask you for the
information you provided and if it checks out we will give you a new
registration code.
4. How to reinstall without losing your
data:
Often a reinstall will fix the problems you are having. You can quickly
reinstall without losing any data if you follow these directions.
-
Exercise Pro, Active Care or Exercise Expert V4: Copy
Expro4.mdb from the main installation directory to a safe place (somewhere
which will not be overwritten when you reinstall). Reinstall your software into
the same directory (Note: You do not need to unistall the software). Copy
Expro4.mdb back into the main installation directory.
Start the program and enter your registration code.
-
Exercise Pro, Active Care or Exercise Expert V3:
Copy Expro3.mdb from the main installation directory to a safe place (somewhere
which will not be overwritten when you reinstall). Reinstall your
software into the same directory (Note: You do not need to uninstall the
software). Copy Expro3.mdb back into the main installation
directory. Start the program and enter your registration code.
-
Fitness/Nutrition Maker: Copy Expro4.mdb from the main
installation directory to a safe place (somewhere which will not be overwritten
when you reinstall). Reinstall your software into the same directory (Note: You
do not need to unistall the software). Copy Expro4.mdb back into the main
installation directory. Start the program and enter your
registration code.
5. I purchased several modules but only received one disk?
-
This is correct. The CD contains all of the modules and it is your
registration code which activates the modules.
6. Are BioEx programs HIPPA compliant?
7. How do I install Exercise Pro on the Network?
-
First install the full version of Exercise Pro on the server. Start
Exercise Pro and select File/Setup from the menu. In the middle of the
Setup screen there is a place to add you Network Code. Enter the Network
Code that you received when purchasing Exercise Pro. (If you are just
running 1 concurrent copy on the network you do not need to enter a network
code.) Exit Exercise Pro on the server before installing the clients.
-
Next Install Exercise Pro on the client. Make sure to choose Network
Client on the install screen. You will be prompted on a following screen
for the location of Exercise Pro on the server. You can either use a
mapped drive (i.e. E:\Exerpro) or a UNC (i.e.\\server\c\exerpro) when
specifying the location. Make sure that the client has read, write, and
execute privledges on the Exercise Pro directory on the Server.
-
Repeat the previous step for each client.
8. I purchased multiple licenses but when I start the program
only one person can get in. How do I fix it?
-
Did you enter your network code when you purchased the network
version? When you purchased the network version you received a network
code. Select File/Setup from the menu. Push the Add button and enter
the network code.
9. I have a Novell File Server. Will your application
work with a Novell Server?
-
Yes. To install on a Novell sever install the full version of the program on a
Windows client. Create a directory on the Novell server. Copy the main
directory (c:\program files\exerpro is the default) to the directory on the
Novell server. Give all users full rights on the directory. Uninstall the
program on the windows client. Install the clients normally and point to the
directory on the Novell server.
10. How do I install Fitness Maker, Nutrition Maker, Fitness
Maker Plus, Nutrition Maker Chiro Edition, or Nutrition Maker Plus as a Network
version?
-
First make sure you have purchased the Network option from BioEx Systems.
It will not work unless you purchase the Network option.
-
Install the program on the "Server" Machine. After installing it make
sure that the directory that you installed it in is shared. Users of the
program must have full rights on this directory (Read, Write, Modify, Create,
Delete).
-
Install the program on one or more client machines. Start the program on
each client machine. Select User/Settings from the menu. Push
Alt-Z. Change the database path and picture path to be the shared
directory. You can either use a mapped drive or a UNC. Make sure
the path ends with a \. Restart the client. It is now attached to the
server database.
11. My application is installed on one computer and I want
to move it to another. How do I do this?
-
Install the application on the new computer.
-
Find the directory that the application was installed on in the old computer.
Default directories are:
-
Exercise Pro - c:\program files\expro4
-
Exercise Pro - Active Care - c:\program files\Active4
-
Exercise Expert - c:\program files\expert4
-
Fitness Maker - c:\program files\maker
-
Fitness Maker Pro - c:\program files\makerpro
-
Nutrition Maker - c:\program files\makernutr
-
Nutrition Maker Focus - c:\program files\makerfocus
-
Nutrition Maker Plus - c:\program files\makerplus
-
Copy the files from the old computer to the install directory on the new
computer.
-
Remove the application from the old computer.
12. When I change a meal plan I can not find the
changes. What happened to them?
-
Within the application a meal plan can be changed at either the client level or
globally. If you make changes on the client screen (the Meal Plan Tab)
those changes will only be for the client. To find those changes select
the "Previous Plans" radio button. You can see the changed plan. Now you
may modify or print it.
-
To make changes to a meal plan that will be reflected for all clients select
Nutrition/Add/Edit Meal Plan from the menu. If you add or change the meal
plans from here all changes will be reflected regardless of client.
Install Problems:
1. When installing the
software on Windows 98 it tells me it can not install MDAC 2.6 SP2 because Y2K,
IE4.01 or greater, etc. is not installed.
-
Make sure the Windows Updates are up to date. Select Start
and Windows updates. Install all of the critical and Internet Explorer
updates. If that does not fix your problem see the next step.
-
Sometimes the updates do not load the Y2k patches.
Click on the link below and follow the directions to install the Y2k
patch.
Y2k Patch
General Problems:
1. When I try to start
program I am told that I have exceeded the number of licenses.
-
Did you enter your network code when you purchased the network
version? When you purchased the network version you received a network
code. Select File/Setup from the menu. Push the Add button and enter
the network code.
-
I have entered the network code and I still get this error.
Make sure to install the patch, found on the main support page, on all
clients. Start each client and then exit. This will clear out the
database and fix your problem.
OR
-
This is a standalone copy. Make sure you have downloaded the
patch from our website. This often fixes the problem. The problem
can also be caused if another account on the same machine was logged on and
terminated abnormally. Log onto the other accounts and try to start the
program. When the program starts exit normally. You should now be
able to log on.
2. When an Exercise Program is printed it prints
in an incorrect font or the text is illegible, it may look like Greek
characters.
-
You must set your printer driver to print fonts as bitmaps. This
problem often happens with Hewlett Packard series 5 and 6 printers. To fix the
problem from Windows select Start:Settings:Printers. Right mouse click
on your printer driver and select Properties. Select the Print Quality
tab. Under the Text Mode box select True Type as Bitmaps.
3. How do I email exercise programs without
receiving an error message?
-
Start the program. Select File/Setup from the
menu. Choose the mail settings button.
-
Enter the correct SMTP server. (Please note that web based
email usually does not allow you to use their server. For
example you may not use Hotmail, AOL or Yahoo mail to name a
few.).
-
Some servers require a username and password to send the
mail. Contact your email provider to see if they are needed. Most often
the user name and password are the same that you use to receive mail. If
you do not remember them please contact your email provider. If you are
not sure start without the username and password. If it does not work
enter your username and password and try again.
-
Some email servers will only send email from their domain.
Make sure you are logged into their domain and the from email address is from
their domain. For example if your mail server was mail.abc.com. You
might have several email addresses but make sure you use the
me@abc.com address.
Please note you can now export exercise programs into a PDF
if you have version 4 of Exercise Pro, Active Care, or Exercise Expert.
The PDF can be attached to any email regardless of provider.
4. When I try to add a picture to an Exercise it
turns out to be black with white lines. How do I fix it?
-
Invert the picture before importing it. Just about all
drawing programs that come with digital cameras and scanners have an invert
function.
5. I have a five user network license. I
get an error saying 5 users are using the program. I know that less than 5
users are using the program. How do I fix it?
-
Check to make sure that all of the users have full rights
(read/write/modify/delete) on the server directory. If one user does not
have full rights they can lock out the other users.
-
Run the BioEx upgrade on all of the clients and the
server. Start each client and then exit normally. Not all clients will
start at first but once enough are opened and then closed they should all work
normally.
6. The program states that the database is
locked. How do I fix it?
-
Check to make sure that all of the users have full rights
(read/write/modify/delete) on the server directory. If one user does not
have full rights they can lock out the other users.
7. When I print some of the margins are cut
off. How do I fix it?
-
Two solutions. Make sure you have the latest version of
Exercise Pro or Exercise Expert. Select File/Setup from the menu and increase
the size of the problematic margin.
OR
-
Select the properties for your print driver and find the setting
for unprintable area. Increase the size of the problematic margin.
8. When I start Exercise Expert it prompts me
for the CD Rom. The CD Rom is already in the drive. Why doesn't
work?
9. I would like to link Fitness Maker with
Exercise Expert but the button does not work. How do I fix it?
-
You must have version 4.0 or higher of Exercise
Expert. Select Help/About from the menu in Exercise Expert to check your
version number. If you have a lower version you must buy an exercise
module to receive the upgrade to version 4. When you buy the module
online you will be given instructions on how to upgrade.
-
You must have version 2.2 or higher of Fitness Maker, Fitness
Maker Pro, or Nutrition Maker Plus. Select Help/About from the menu in
your Maker product to check your version number. If your version is less
than 2.2 click here to install the upgrade.
-
Once you have the correct versions start your Maker product,
select a client, choose the Exercise Programs tab. Push the Exercise
Expert button and follow the directions.
10. The program is printing pictures but no words (instructions)
on the exercise copy and the chart copy. How do I fix it?
-
This is a problem with the print
driver. Please install the latest print driver from your printer
manufacturer. If that does not work use a Hewlet Packard Laserjet 4
printer driver.
Error Codes:
1. When I try to start the program I receive
an error in the 3000 range.
-
This usually indicates a corrupt database. Reinstall your software. (Note:
unless you have a backup of your data it will be lost. Do not follow the
steps for reinstalling without losing your data.)
2. When I try to print or when I start the program I get
a licensing error (note: Not a "network licenses exceeded message").
3. When searching for Exercises you receive a 20009 error and
you have Windows XP and a Hewlett Packard Computer or Hewlett Packard
Scanner.
-
This problem is caused by Hewlett Packard installing old versions of common
files (DLL's) in a non standard directory. This fix will update the
files, fixing the BioEx Software and not harming the HP software.
-

error and number 7 does not apply.
5. When I try to start the program I receive an
error stating that the MSJTER35.DLL is missing.
-
Click here to download the MSJTER35.DLL.
If you have Windows 95, 98, or ME copy the file into C:\windows\system.
If you have Windows NT or Windows 2000 copy the file into
